Tottenham Hotspur team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Manchester United

Tottenham injury, suspension list vs. Man United

Ange Postecoglou's first Premier League home game in charge of Tottenham Hotspur sees Manchester United visit North London for a blockbuster clash on Saturday evening.

The Lilywhites played out an entertaining 2-2 draw with Brentford on the opening weekend, as Cristian Romero and Emerson Royal netted either side of Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa's efforts.

A four-goal stalemate was also on the menu when Spurs hosted Man United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in April, prior to which the capital side lost 2-0 at Old Trafford back in October.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Tottenham's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with the Red Devils, who were counting their lucky stars in a 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers last time out.

Rodrigo Bentancur

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: September 16 (vs. Sheffield United)

Rodrigo Bentancur has now spent over six months recovering from the cruciate ligament injury he sustained in February, and it will likely be another few weeks before the Uruguayan is seen working with the ball again.

Ryan Sessegnon

Status: Out Type of injury: Hamstring Possible return date: October 21 (vs. Fulham)

The injury-plagued Ryan Sessegnon underwent an operation on a hamstring problem earlier this summer, and the Englishman will remain in the treatment room for another couple of months.

Bryan Gil

Status: Out Type of injury: Groin Possible return date: October 21 (vs. Fulham)

Only a few weeks after Sessegnon went under the knife, Bryan Gil needed surgery to correct a troublesome groin injury and is also unlikely to return until the latter stages of October at the earliest.

Fraser Forster

Status: Out Type of injury: Back Possible return date: August 26 (vs. Bournemouth)

Third-choice goalkeeper Fraser Forster missed out against Brentford with a back injury, and his chances of a comeback on Saturday are rated slim to none.

Alfie Whiteman

Status: Out Type of injury: Ankle Possible return date: Unknown

Another fringe shot-stopper, Alfie Whiteman, is recovering from ankle surgery after picking up an injury in pre-season, and he will be unavailable for selection until further notice.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR'S SUSPENSION LIST

Tottenham have no players suspended for this match.
