Half-Time Report: Goalless first half between Tottenham Hotspur, West Bromwich Albion

There are no goals in the opening 45 minutes between West Brom and Tottenham in their Premier League game this afternoon.

West Bromwich Albion and Tottenham Hotspur have played a goalless first half in their Premier League clash at The Hawthorns.

It was the home side that had the first chance of the game, Romelu Lukaku looking to set up Shane Long who was unable to control the ball as he tried to take it around Hugo Lloris, eventually conceding a goal kick.

Spurs responded well to the Baggies' good start, Aaron Lennon tearing down the wing before picking out Clint Dempsey, who could only head the ball out.

Gareth Bale produced a number of chances for the visitors, one of his best opportunities coming from a free kick from the edge of the penalty area before he forced a save from Ben Foster on the stroke of half time.

Lukaku produced one of the hosts' best chances of the half just before the interval, but close marking resulted in him firing his shot high.

There was an injury blow for Tottenham towards the end of the first 45 minutes, as Jermain Defoe had to go off with an ankle injury following a collision with Claudio Yacob, Lewis Holtby coming on in his place and leaving Spurs without a recognised striker.
