Carvajal delighted to make Spain debut - DUPLICATE

Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has revealed his delight at making his Spain debut despite losing 1-0 to France on Thursday.

New Chelsea signing Loic Remy scored the game's only goal as Spain fielded a new look team following their disappointing performance at this summer's World Cup.

Carvajal told reporters: "I felt really comfortable on the pitch and my teammates have made me feel very welcome. The youth teams work hard on playing the same style of football [tiki-taka], so that it is less of a shock when a player steps up to the senior team."

Carvajal, 22, joined Madrid in 2002 before leaving for Bayer Leverkusen in 2012.

However, Madrid retained a buy-back clause, which they exercised last year in order to bring the highly-rated defender back to the Bernabeu.
