Southampton 'aware of interest in Livramento from top PL clubs'

Southampton are reportedly hoping to fend off interest from top Premier League clubs and keep hold of right-back Valentino Livramento.

The 19-year-old, who moved to St Mary's from Chelsea for around £5m last summer, is enjoying his breakthrough season in senior football under Ralph Hasenhuttl and has already made 23 appearances across all competitions.

According to The Sun, Livramento's impressive performances for the Saints have caught the eye of a number of bigger clubs in the English top flight, who are now closely monitoring the defender's progress.

However, the report adds that Southampton expect the England Under-21 international to remain with the club for at least another season, despite speculation of a potential summer swoop by Manchester United.

Livramento's former club Chelsea are understood to have an inserted a buy-back clause in his contract with the Saints, worth in the region of £38m, which will become active in the summer of 2023.

Southampton are also hoping to keep hold of Blues loanee Armando Broja and will consider offering around £25m to recruit the striker permanently ahead of next season.
