Southampton are reportedly interested in signing Lazio midfielder Alvaro Gonzalez.
The Uruguayan played in all of his country's matches at this summer's World Cup and is a regular for his club side.
According to The Mirror, Saints boss Ronald Koeman is planning to make an £8m bid to secure Gonzalez's services.
Gonzalez has scored twice in 43 appearances for Uruguay.
