Mauricio Pochettino offered Benfica job

Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino has been offered the manager's role at Portuguese side Benfica, according to reports.

Pochettino has only been in charge at St Mary's Stadium since January, and he guided the Saints to 14th position in the Premier League.

However, according to Spanish newspaper El Confidencial, the Argentinian has been targeted as a possible replacement for current coach Jorge Jesus.

Benfica were competing for three trophies heading into the final few weeks of the season, but failed to achieve success in any competition.
