Southampton's Sadio Mane ruled out for six weeks with a calf injury

Mane ruled out for six weeks

Southampton winger Sadio Mane has been ruled out of action for up to six weeks with a calf injury.

Boss Ronald Koeman confirmed the news after his side drew their FA Cup third-round clash with Ipswich Town.

The injury will see the Senegalese player ruled out of the Africa Cup of Nations.

Koeman told the official club website: "Sadio has a injured calf muscle, it will be four to six weeks.

"Senegal maybe will call him up and see the player, but he will not play in the Africa Cup of Nations."

Mane had been in a rich vein of form prior to his injury, scoring against both Chelsea and Arsenal over the festive period.
