Zenit St Petersburg complete Luis Novo Neto deal

Siena defender Luis Novo Neto has completed his €6m (£5.2m) move to Russian side Zenit St Petersburg.

The 24-year-old, who joined Siena from Nacional in the summer, had been attracting the interest of Italian giants Napoli and Juventus.

However, a move to a Serie A club failed to materialise, leading to Zenit making their move for the Portuguese defender.

Siena confirmed the deal had been done in a brief statement on their official webiste, which read: "Luis Novo Neto has been sold outright to Zenit St Petersburg."

Siena sit bottom of the table on 14 points.
