Sheffield Wednesday have capped a productive transfer deadline day with the signing of Portuguese midfielder Melo.
The 25-year-old signed a three-and-a-half-year deal after joining from Moreirense for an undisclosed fee.
Melo has become the Owls' fourth signing of the day, with Sergiu Bus, Marnick Vermijl and Lewis McGugan also arriving at Hillsbrough.
The big midfielder has also enjoyed spells with Portuguese clubs Uniao Lamas, Beira-Mar, Avanca, Eapinho, Arouca and Naval.
