Sheffield Wednesday forward Caolan Lavery sidelined for two months

Sheffield Wednesday boss Stuart Gray has revealed that forward Caolan Lavery will be out of action for two months with knee ligament damage.

The 21-year-old suffered the injury on Sunday during his side's 2-2 draw with Doncaster Rovers in pre-season.

Lavery is now expected to be on the sidelines until around the end of September while he recovers from the problem.

"They call it like a car crash injury. We thought it might be [anterior cruciate ligament], but it's not. It's going to be a couple of months," Owls boss Stuart Gray is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

Lavery scored three goals in eight games during a loan spell with Plymouth Argyle last season.
