Seattle Sounders win third game in a row

Seattle Sounders have risen to second in the MLS Western Conference thanks to a 1-0 win over rock-bottom Chivas USA.

Lamar Neagle's 24th-minute strike was all that was needed for Rave Green to claim all three points at Centurylink Field, which lifts them a point above Los Angeles Galaxy.

Matt Fondy and Mario de Luna came close to levelling the score in the second half, while Bobby Burling forced a good save from Sounders goalkeeper Michael Gspurning.

The 32-year-old managed to keep his keep his sheet clean to deny Chivas a point, which would have only cut the gap on the San Jose Earthquakes to 10 points.

After winning three wins in a row, Sigi Schmid's men face Chicago Fire in their next match on Saturday.
