Strachan: Scotland defeat "wasn't fair"

Scotland manager Gordon Strachan has claimed that his team's 3-0 defeat to England at Wembley Stadium "wasn't fair".

The Tartan Army were made to pay for missing chances as goals from Daniel Sturridge, Adam Lallana and Gary Cahill - England's only three shots on target - gave the Three Lions a comfortable win in the World Cup qualifier between the two teams.

Strachan acknowledged that England had shown their class but he admitted that he had been left disappointed with what will be regarded as a missed opportunity.

The 59-year-old is quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "That's what you get from world-class players, I'm afraid, when you're on the other side.

"I'm really down for the lads in a way, but proud of them in what they tried to do. I do feel for that group in there. That wasn't fair."

Scotland now sit in fifth position in Group F, four points adrift of second place and six points behind leaders England.
