Schalke 04 secure their second win since November thanks to a double from Joel Matip.

A brace from Joel Matip has helped Schalke 04 to just their second Bundesliga win since November.

His goals helped Die Knappen to a 2-1 victory over Fortuna Dusseldorf at the Veltins-Arena.

The first came in the 29th minute, when he latched onto Jermaine Jones's headed pass to bury past Fabian Giefer.

However, the hosts got back to level terms when Andreas Lambertz supplied Axel Bellinghausen with the opportunity and he made no mistake.

The hosts pushed forward desperately but the fans had to wait until the 81st minute before Matip turned home from Michel Bastos's free kick.

The win sees Jens Keller's men go level on points with Mainz and Hannover.
