Team News: Steven Gerrard, Ashley Cole rested for England

Steven Gerrard and Ashley Cole have been rested for England's World Cup qualifier against San Marino, with Frank Lampard captaining the side.

Joe Hart starts in goal for the Three Lions at the Serravalle Stadium, while Chris Smalling partners Joleon Lescott in the centre of defence.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain comes into the side following an injury to Theo Walcott and Wayne Rooney leads the attack with Jermain Defoe.

Meanwhile, Cole and Gerrard are named among the substitutes with Michael Carrick, Danny Welbeck and Daniel Sturridge.
