Rudi Garcia: 'Mehdi Benatia not leaving Roma'

Roma coach Rudi Garcia has insisted that Mehdi Benatia will not be leaving the club this summer.

The 27-year-old defender has recently been linked with a move to Premier League champions Manchester City.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are also thought to be monitoring the Moroccan international.

"I hope we will be able to keep our best players," Garcia told L'Equipe. "Mehdi Benatia has four years remaining on his contract and has no option to leave. So he will remain a Roma player next term."

Benatia joined Roma from Udinese for around £11m in July 2013.
