Monday's Serie A predictions and previews including Roma vs. Fiorentina

Will Fiorentina win in the capital? Monday's Serie A predictions and previews

Today's Serie A predictions include Roma's clash with Fiorentina, as well as the contest between Bologna and Lazio.

Bologna vs. Lazio (Monday, 5.30pm)

Both starting again under new management, Bologna and Lazio will kick off their Serie A season on Monday, when the clubs clash at Stadio Dall'Ara.

After enduring a tough spell in charge of his national team, Gennaro Gattuso recently made an awful start as Biancocelesti boss.

We say: Bologna 2-2 Lazio

Bologna were below par in pre-season, while Lazio have already made a disastrous start, so neither side's confidence is high.

Both coaches have a point to prove following prior failures, but they may have to settle for an opening-day draw.

Roma vs. Fiorentina (Monday, 7.45pm)

Having stormed towards the finish line last season, Roma will seek a fast start to the 2026-27 Serie A campaign when they welcome Fiorentina to Stadio Olimpico on Monday.

While the Giallorossi finished third and snatched a seat at Europe's top table, the Viola survived an unexpected fight for survival.

We say: Roma 2-1 Fiorentina

Roma have lost only one of their last 14 Serie A season openers - including wins against Fiorentina in 2014 and 2021 - and they can make another positive start.

While Fiorentina have fresh ideas under Grosso and have made some exciting signings, the hosts are far further along in their development and generally raise their game on home turf.
