Trapattoni pleased with draw

Republic of Ireland coach Giovanni Trapattoni has insisted that Friday's goalless draw with Sweden in Stockholm is a "good result" for his side.

The Irish held out for a point in the World Cup qualifier to extend their unbeaten run away from home to nine games.

"I think this 90 minutes is a good result," Trapattoni told Sky Sports News.

"I don't know if Sweden were afraid about us but we were not afraid of them.

"For us it was very important not to concede a goal, or concede a defeat. Now we have played nine games without losing away."

The draw has seen Ireland slip six points adrift of leaders Germany in Group C, but only one point behind second-placed Sweden with six games left to play.
