Preview: Republic of Ireland vs. Oman

Republic of Ireland vs. Oman

Republic of Ireland will look to end a six-game streak without a victory when they take on Oman in Dublin on Wednesday night.

Manager Martin O'Neill has picked a big squad in terms of numbers, which is likely to mean that he could select an experimental starting lineup for the clash, with the upcoming Euro 2016 qualifier against Georgia in mind.

That could mean that the likes of Robbie Brady, Stephen Quinn and Anthony Pilkington are all given the opportunity to impress at the Aviva Stadium.

As for visiting Oman, while Ireland are on a negative run of form, the Asian nation have not been defeated in their last 11 outings.

However, when they last took on the Irish back in 2012 at Craven Cottage, they were beaten 4-1, with Shane Long and Kevin Doyle among the scorers.
