Republic of Ireland striker Jonathan Walters has insisted that they will play for pride in their final Group C match against Italy.
The Irish have no chance of progressing following successive defeats to Croatia and Spain, and Walters has admitted that they have let the fans down.
"You have hopes coming into the tournament but with two defeats we've let ourselves down and the fans down," the 28-year old told The People.
"We need to get some pride back. We don't want to come out with three defeats and nothing.
"Some top players never get a chance to play in a tournament and you've got to relish the opportunity, but you can't enjoy it when you're getting beat and that's why we have to go for the win in the Italy game."
Walters has nine international caps to his name.
