Half-Time Report: Thiago Motta puts Paris Saint-Germain in front

Thiago Motta's 19th-minute goal is enough to give Paris Saint-Germain the lead against Rennes at the interval.

Thiago Motta's first-half goal gave Paris Saint-Germain a lead at half time against Rennes in Ligue 1, as they look to preserve their advantage at the top of the table.

The Brazilian defender's low shot from the edge of the box found the bottom-left corner of Benoit Costil's goal.

Rennes looked for an equaliser and almost found one when Jean-Armel Kana-Biyik rose to meet Romain Alessandrini's cross, but he directed his header wide of the right post.

Biyik went close against minutes before the break when his left-footed shot drifted wide of Salvatore Sirigu's goal.

Laurent Blanc's men started the game two points ahead of Monaco, who play later on Saturday.
