Gerard Houllier hints at Thierry Henry Monaco return

Gerard Houllier believes that Thierry Henry still has the ability to succeed at a high level in Europe, should he leave New York Red Bulls.

Gerard Houllier has hinted that New York Red Bulls striker Thierry Henry may return to former club AS Monaco.

The 37-year-old is expected to leave the MLS outfit at the end of the current season following a four-year stint at the club.

Houllier, who is head of football at the Red Bulls, believes that the Frenchman still has the ability to succeed at a high level.

"At the moment no decision has been made, either in one direction or the other," he told RMC. "Thierry has not decided to end his career. We would love to keep him but it will also depend on him. He never seems to get old and continues to score goals. Could he play again in Ligue 1? Absolutely, no problems."

Henry has also enjoyed spells at Barcelona, Juventus and Arsenal.
