Real Zaragoza have secured their La Liga survival on the final day of the season with a 2-0 win at Getafe.
The home side were reduced to 10 men in bizarre circumstances midway through the first half when Pablo Sarabia picked up his second yellow card for sarcastically applauding the referee after his initial booking.
It got worse for Getafe on the hour when Miguel Torres was also shown his marching orders after a handball in his own area saw him receive his second yellow card of the game. Apono smashed home the penalty kick to give Zaragoza the lead.
In an ill-disciplined match, the away side had a man sent off in the final 10 minutes when Tomislav Dujmovic was shown a straight red card, while Getafe went down to eight men with three minutes to play as Miku was dismissed by the referee.
Helder Postiga extended Zaragoza's lead in the dying minutes to guarantee their survival for another season.
