How Real Madrid could line up against Real Valladolid

Sports Mole looks at how Real Madrid may line up for the visit of Real Valladolid in La Liga this weekend.

Santiago Solari takes charge of Real Madrid for the first time this weekend when Real Valladolid travel to the Bernabeu.

Los Blancos are badly out of form, having lost four and drawn one of their last five La Liga matches to cost Julen Lopetegui his job.

In the wake of last week's 5-1 El Clasico thrashing at the hands of Barcelona, it is now left to Solari - temporarily, at least - to pick up the pieces.

Ahead of Saturday afternoon's clash in the Spanish capital, Sports Mole looks at how Madrid could line up.

Possible RMI vs. VAL

Out: Dani Carvajal, Mariano Diaz, Jesus Vallejo, Raphael Varane, Marcelo
Doubtful: None

Solari has a defensive crisis of sorts for this first, and possibly only, game in charge of the senior side as regulars Carvajal, Varane and Marcelo are all ruled out.

With the versatile Nacho Fernandez likely being required at left-back, on the opposite flank to capable stand-in Alvaro Odriozola, Sergio Reguilon may come in for just a second start of the season - the other being 90 minutes in the loss to CSKA Moscow - although Nacho is equally adept at filling in in the middle.

Another alternative for Solari is to use Casemiro in the centre of defence, as was effectively the case in the second half of last week's El Clasico, which would then mean bringing in Dani Ceballos in the centre of the pitch.

Changes further forward may also be made, but the likes of Gareth Bale, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos will be well rested after sitting out the midweek Copa del Rey win over lower-league side Melilla.
