Real Madrid vs. Girona: Predicted Blanquivermells XI for La Liga contest

Two forwards a doubt, one suspension issue: How Girona could line up against Real Madrid

Girona will be without the services of Yangel Herrera against Real Madrid in La Liga on Sunday afternoon due to the red card that he was handed in the team's 2-1 defeat to Getafe last time out.

Herrera was on the scoresheet against the capital team, but he was sent off shortly after, and the 27-year-old will now be unavailable for selection for this weekend's fixture with the reigning champions at Bernabeu.

Abel Ruiz and Arnaut Danjuma are major doubts, meanwhile, due to the issues which forced them to miss out against Getafe.

Yaser Asprilla is expected to be the player to benefit from Herrera's absence in terms of a spot in the XI, although Donny Van de Beek will also be in head coach Michel's mind when it comes to the attacking spot in midfield.

Should Ruiz and Danjuma both miss out, then Michel would have a big decision to make in attack, and Portu's mobility could potentially be preferred to Cristhian Stuani's bigger goal threat.

Bryan Gil should retain his spot, while there is also likely to be a position in the back three for Daley Blind, with the visitors expected to operate in a 3-4-3 formation against Carlo Ancelotti's side.

Arnau Martinez is one of the most highly-rated players in the Girona set-up, and the 21-year-old is again expected to feature as a right-sided wing-back on Sunday afternoon.

Girona possible starting lineup: Gazzaniga; D Lopez, Krejci, Blind; A Martinez, Romeu, Asprilla, Gutierrez; Gil, Portu, Tsyhankov
