Roberto Carlos: 'Danilo is a great signing for Real Madrid'

Porto defender Danilo is "a great signing" for Real Madrid, according to former Los Blancos full-back Roberto Carlos.

Former Brazil international Roberto Carlos has said that Real Madrid "have made a great signing" in Porto's Danilo.

At the end of March, it was confirmed that an agreement was in place for Danilo to join Real Madrid at the end of this season.

The presence of Dani Carvajal at the Bernabeu led to criticism of the signing, but Carlos believes that his compatriot will prove a star in Spain.

"Madrid have made a great signing. He is a player with a lot of class," Carlos told AS. "He has won the League in Portugal, so he has experience as well."

Right-back Danilo has agreed a six-year deal with the Spanish outfit.
