Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has been handed yet another injury blow as Luka Jovic limped off for Serbia after aggravating a pre-existing problem.
Jovic has featured three times so far for Real Madrid, but the £53m striker has yet to get off the mark for his new club.
A statement from the Serbian FA revealed: "In the game against Portugal he suffered a relapse from an injury he was suffering from when he joined up with the national squad, and having been examined by the medics, it has been determined that he won't be able to play this Tuesday against Luxembourg."
Serbia had started the match against Portugal with Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic preferred to the Real Madrid man. Mitrovic got himself on the scoresheet but it wasn't enough as his side went down 4-2 to the reigning European champions.
Mitrovic is likely to continue upfront in Jovic's absence on Tuesday night against Luxembourg, who surprisingly sit level on points with Serbia after four matches of the campaign.
