Alaba setback, huge Camavinga blow - Real Madrid injury news vs. Atalanta BC

Real Madrid injury news vs. Atalanta BC - Alaba setback

Real Madrid will be bidding to land their first trophy of the 2024-25 campaign when they tackle Italian outfit Atalanta BC in the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday night.

Los Blancos concluded their preparations for the new season with a 2-1 victory over Chelsea in the United States, and they are now back on European soil to prepare for this contest.

Real Madrid beat Borussia Dortmund to win last season's Champions League, while they also finished at the top of La Liga and have now added a certain Kylian Mbappe to their squad.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of their contest with Atalanta, who have lost their last two friendlies ahead of this match.

David Alaba

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Alaba suffered an ACL injury against Villarreal last December, which required an operation, and he then underwent further surgery in the middle of May. Alaba's recovery is said to be taken longer than expected due to a recent setback, and the Austrian now faces a battle to return before the end of the year.

Eduardo Camavinga

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Real Madrid will be without the services of Camavinga for the clash against Atalanta due to a knee injury which he suffered during a training session, and there are fears that he could now be facing a lengthy spell out.
