Sports Mole previews Thursday's Women's Champions League clash between Real Madrid Femenino and Paris Saint-Germain Women, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Real Madrid Femenino will be aiming for an improved performance on Thursday, when they welcome Paris Saint-Germain Women to the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium in the Women's Champions League after suffering a heavy 4-0 defeat in Paris last week.

Both sides look set to qualify for the knockout stages, with Real Madrid in second place with six points to their name, while PSG are three points clear at the top of Group B.

Real Madrid will be looking to avenge last week's disappointing defeat as they aim to move level with PSG in Group B with a victory on Thursday.

The Spanish side reacted well to the defeat in Paris when they returned to domestic action at the weekend, winning 4-1 away to Real Betis.

Esther Gonzalez and Caroline Moller gave Real Madrid a two-goal lead at the break, but Maria Valle hit back for Real Betis just after half time.

However, any prospect of a fightback from the hosts was ended when Eva Llamas was shown a second yellow card, and Real Madrid took control with Nahikari Garcia scoring before Gonzalez grabbed her second of the game to seal an impressive victory.

David Aznar will hope that his side can continue their excellent home form, with Real Madrid looking for their fifth successive home victory in all competitions.

Paris Saint-Germain have dominated Group B so far with maximum points from their opening three games, while they are also yet to concede in the competition this season.

Last Tuesday, the French champions swept aside Real Madrid, courtesy of a brace from Marie-Antoinette Katoto, a goal for Sara Dabritz, and an unfortunate Rocio Galvez own goal.

However, PSG will enter Thursday encounter feeling dejected after a crushing 6-1 defeat to championship rivals Lyon on Sunday.

A disastrous first half saw Lyon take a two-goal lead before Ashley Lawrence was sent off for PSG, and Lyon took full advantage, scoring four more goals in the second period.

That result was PSG's first loss away from home this season, and it was also the first time that PSG have conceded in this term.

Didier Olle-Nicolle will still be confident that his side can collect all three points this Thursday, and he can take comfort from the fact that they had won every game this season before the Lyon defeat.

Team News

Real Madrid will have to cope without the services of Kosovare Asllani and Marta Cardona, who have ligament and meniscus injuries respectively.

Aurelie Kaci, Babett Peter and Malena Ortiz are all absent for the hosts due to injury issues.

After scoring five goals in her last four matches, Gonzalez will look to continue her fine goalscoring form on Thursday.

PSG top scorer Katoto has been in superb form, with ten goals already to her name this season, and she will be looking to add to that tally in Madrid.

Elisa De Almeida came into the starting lineup at the weekend, and she is expected to keep her place in the side for this clash.

Real Madrid Femenino possible starting lineup:
Gerard; Robles, Florentino, Galvez, Ivana, Rodriguez; Corredera, Oroz, Zornoza, Del Castillo; Gonzalez

Paris Saint-Germain Women possible starting lineup:
Votikova; Lawrence, Ilestedt, Dudek, Karchaoui; Geyoro, De Almeida, Dabritz; Diani, Baltimore, Katoto

We say: Real Madrid Femenino 1-2 Paris Saint-Germain Women

Real Madrid will be hoping that it is a tighter contest than the one in Paris a week ago, and although it may be close, we think PSG will have enough quality to collect all three points.
