Zinedine Zidane's coaching ban lifted following successful appeal

Real Madrid announce that a Zinedine Zidane's coaching ban has been lifted following an appeal and he is free to continue coaching Real Madrid Castilla.

Zinedine Zidane has been permitted to continue coaching Real Madrid Castilla following a successful appeal to a Spanish court.

The former France international was handed a three-month ban by the Football Competition Committee after it was reported that he does not hold the correct licence.

A complaint was issued from a representative for Spanish Coaches and the head of the National Centre for Developing Coaches, who claimed that Zidane held a Level 2 licence and not the required Level 3 to coach the Real reserves.

Following an appeal by the La Liga giants, a Spanish court suspended the ban and it has now been confirmed that the original sanction on Zidane and manager Santiago Sanchez has been lifted.

A statement on the club's official website said: "Real Madrid C. F. communicates that the Administrative Court of Sport has considered the appeal presented by the club, which would allow the Real Madrid Castilla manager and assistant coach, Santiago Sanchez and Zinedine Zidane respectively, to carry out their professional activities."

The 42-year-old began working with the reserves following a stint as assistant to Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti.
