Noel Hunt confesses that he is eager to sign a new deal with Premier League side Reading.

Reading striker Noel Hunt has revealed that he would like to extend his contract with the club.

The Republic of Ireland international's current deal is due to expire at the end of season, which would see him become a free agent in the summer.

However, the 30-year-old has insisted that he would like to prolong his stay at the Madejski Stadium.

"The gaffer spoke briefly about it the other day so hopefully we can start talks," Hunt told the Reading Post.

"I'll do whatever the manager wants me to do to keep this team in the league. I understand what the story is at the moment."

Hunt joined the Royals in 2008 from Dundee United.
