Reading boss Steve Clarke: 'You never know on deadline day'

Steve Clark hints at a busy transfer deadline day for Reading, saying that "you never know" what can happen.

Reading manager Steve Clarke has suggested that the Royals will be active on transfer deadline day tomorrow.

Clarke appears keen to add to his squad as Reading look to continue their escape from the Championship's relegation battle following yesterday's 2-0 home win over Sheffield Wednesday.

"You never know, one phone call could change the nature of the transfer window for any given club. We're no different," Clarke told the club website.

"I think you'll see one or two rumours, or one or two stories that are flying around but at the moment that's all they are. They're rumours.

"As I'm standing here now I think possibly a quiet couple of days, but like I said – you never know in this window."

Reading have signed two players on loan - Nathaniel Chalobah and Jure Travner - so far in the January window.
