Nick Blackman: 'Each player contributing to Reading success'

Reading forward Nick Blackman hails the collective belief among the squad after closing in on an automatic promotion spot in the Championship.

Nick Blackman has suggested that the strength in depth at Reading this season is behind the club's promotion push.

The Royals have made an impressive start to the campaign, losing just two games so far to close level on points with a place in the Championship's top two.

Blackman's form has been key to Reading's revival on the back of an underwhelming showing last time out, but he puts the recent run of four wins on the bounce down to a more collective team effort.

"Everyone is contributing. The team doing well overall is the most important thing," he is quoted as saying by the The Reading Chronicle. "All of the players are playing with real confidence and we have managed to grind out a great result.

"It's looking good at the moment. Everyone is working really hard on the training ground. We're not getting complacent - we're just going about our business and taking each game as it comes. The squad is fantastic.

"We've made a couple of changes and you could see the quality and calibre of player that was on the bench [against Charlton Athletic]. It only gives confidence to the rest of the boys that are already on the field, when players that good are coming on."

Reading will be hoping to continue their winning run when they take on Rotherham United on Tuesday night.
