Jermain Defoe has a phenomenal record for scoring debut goals.

Until he failed to find the target for Sunderland against Tottenham in January 2015, he had managed a goal on his first League Cup appearance at West Ham and his league bows at Bournemouth, Spurs (twice), Portsmouth and Toronto.

Rangers fans will be hoping he can add to his debut goal haul when they take on Kilmarnock in their first Ladbrokes Premiership match after the winter break on January 23, having joined the Ibrox club on an 18-month loan deal.
