Rangers investigated by SPL

The Scottish Premier League has confirmed that it will investigate alleged non-disclosed payments made by or on behalf of Rangers to players.

The probe has been launched after former Rangers director Hugh Adam claimed that some payments were not included in official contracts that were registered with the SPL.

Some of the alleged payments are believed to date back to July 1998.

For Rangers, the news of the investigation has come on the same day that redundancies are expected to be made at the club.
