Kenny McDowall wants Rangers players to decide futures quickly

McDowall: 'Players must decide quickly'

Rangers assistant manager Kenny McDowall has called for players to decide their futures sooner rather than later.

Gers will begin their season in the Third Division after being demoted due to financial problems and assistant manager McDowall wants players yet to move on to make a swift decision for the good of the club.

"Listen, we can understand where they're coming from but it's wait and see," McDowall told Scotland's Sunday Mail.

"But it can't drag on to the end of the transfer window. The manager has had talks with the players but they have not come back to us with a decision."

McDowall also acknowledged the task ahead of the Glasgow outfit this season.

"We're under no illusions that we can go out with a youth team and win the Third Division. We've got to respect the teams in the league and we understand it won't be easy."
