Ally McCoist pleased by "deserved" Rangers victory

Ally McCoist admits that Rangers deserved to beat Livingston 2-0 in the Scottish Championship.

Rangers boss Ally McCoist has admitted that his side deserved their 2-0 victory at home to Livingston in the Scottish Championship.

The Gers made a return to winning ways in the league on Saturday as goals either side of half time saw them claim the spoils at Ibrox Stadium.

The result has kept Rangers nine points behind leaders Hearts heading into the busy festive schedule.

While conceding that his team struggled in front of goal, McCoist believes that they were worthy winners in the end.

"I think we deserved to win the game," he told the club's official website. "I thought we started well and got a very good goal but we didn't really capitalise and go on from that.

"A concern I would have, and I've said this in previous weeks, is that we just don't go and get the second goal quickly enough because our play warrants it and we do create the chances, we just don't take them."

Rangers continue their promotion bid on December 27 when they travel to Hibernian.
