After suffering a defeat in their last outing, Racing Club will be aiming for an immediate response on Sunday when they host Aldosivi in their latest Argentine Primera Division match.

The visitors are out of form themselves heading into this one, having failed to secure a victory in their previous six matches, which includes a game against their opponents this weekend.

Despite the fact that Racing Club are currently second placed in the overall table, they have found consistency difficult during the start of the second phase this season.

Out of the four matches they have played in this section of the campaign, Fernando Gago's men have lost half of them, including their most recent performance against Gimnasia.

Enzo Copetti had drawn Racing Club level after they fell behind in the sixth minute of the match, but a brace from Brahian Aleman ended up finishing the game at 3-1.

Even though their recent form has been hit and miss, the hosts are only three points behind the current league leaders which will give them plenty to fight for in this game.

On top of that, they will be able to take confidence from the fact that they played Aldosivi in May, where Racing Club picked up a dominant 5-0 victory.

That is something that the visitors shall be aiming to put behind them with an improved performance this time around, but they have failed to win a single game since that point.

Aldosivi are currently on a six-match run without a victory, with the squad conceding 11 goals in that period while only scoring twice themselves.

Despite the recent poor form Diego Villar's men were able to put an end to the consecutive defeats with a goalless draw during their most recent outing against Platense.

Their performances this season have been mixed, with six victories, three draws, and 10 losses so far which has left them 19th in the table overall.

Another loss this weekend could see them drop as low as 23rd, which would begin to increase the pressure on them throughout the remainder of this campaign.

Team News

Racing Club are set to once again be without Gabriel Arias and Gabriel Hauche due to injuries, which has been the case for the past couple of games.

Tomas Chancalay could be somebody that the hosts call upon in the attack though following his recent suspension, while Copetti will retain his place in the team.

For the third consecutive game Aldosivi were reduced to 10 men in midweek, and that means that Patricio Boolsen will join Santiago Laquidain on the suspended list for this match.

This will once again force a change at the back for the visitors, who had to move to a back five in that game which worked out for them after they kept a clean sheet.
