Tony Fernandes promises new Queens Park Rangers signings are on the way

Fernandes promises new QPR signings

Queens Park Rangers chairman Tony Fernandes has revealed that the club are close to bringing in some more signings before the close of the transfer window.

The newly-promoted Premier League side have recruited Rio Ferdinand, Steven Caulker, Jordon Mutch and Mauricio Isla so far this summer, but manager Harry Redknapp is expected to add more to his squad.

The 67-year-old recently revealed that he wants to sign two midfielders and a striker before the window shuts on September 1.

Fernandes tweeted this morning: "Will be a good day for QPR fans. Some new names coming. Thanks to Fifa and WhatsApp. Mission almost completed."

Norwich City midfielder Leroy Fer has been linked with a move to Loftus Road, while the R's are also believed to be considering a move for Napoli forward Eduardo Vargas.
