Report: Tim Sherwood to be appointed Queens Park Rangers manager

Report: Sherwood to be named QPR boss

Queens Park Rangers are reportedly on the verge of appointing Tim Sherwood as the club's new manager.

The Championship outfit sacked Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink on Saturday after the Dutchman oversaw just 14 wins in 47 games since his arrival at Loftus Road in December 2015.

According to the London Evening Standard, Sherwood, who has been out of work since leaving Villa in October last year, is expected to be announced as QPR's new boss on Wednesday evening after having talks with director of football Les Ferdinand.

The former Tottenham Hotspur boss, who worked with Ferdinand at Spurs' academy, spoke to QPR about replacing Harry Redknapp last year, but after failing to agree a salary, Sherwood took on the job at Villa.

It has also been reported that Chris Ramsey will be promoted to assistant coach.
