Report: QPR to appoint Redknapp this week

Queens Park Rangers will replace manager Mark Hughes with Harry Redknapp after this Saturday's visit to Manchester United, according to a report.

The Premier League club have opted to wait one more game to avoid handing Hughes's successor a baptism of fire at Old Trafford, The Mirror claims.

QPR have apparently been forced to make an approach for the former Tottenham Hotspur boss after his agent held talks with the Ukrainian FA with a view to him coaching the national team.

However, the Premier League's bottom club are said to be confident that Redknapp will be installed as their new manager as early as Sunday.

Publicly, QPR chairman Tony Fernandes continues to back Hughes and Redknapp has refused to discuss speculation linking him with the top job at Loftus Road.
