Harry Redknapp to draw on experience in QPR's playoff against Wigan Athletic

Redknapp to draw on experience

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp is hopeful that his team can grab a "positive result" against Wigan Athletic in the first leg of their Championship playoff tie on Friday.

The West London outfit will travel to the DW Stadium to face a team who were relegated from the Premier League alongside QPR last season.

Redknapp's men head into the encounter on the back of an unbeaten three-match run, while Wigan have suffered four defeats in their last six outings.

"We're in decent form, we're confident and we're looking forward to it," Redknapp said in Thursday's press conference. "Our experience will stand us in good stead.

"I've got no playoff experience myself so it's new territory for me. We've just got to make sure we can get a positive result ahead of Monday night's second leg at Loftus Road."

Derby County and Brighton & Hove Albion are the other two clubs fighting to join Leicester City and Burnley in the top flight next season.
