Queens Park Rangers facing wage crisis

QPR facing wage crisis

Queens Park Rangers could face a player-wages crisis if the club is relegated from the Premier League this season.

It is understood that R's chairman Tony Fernandes persuaded this season's big-name arrivals to sign by not placing relegation clauses in their contracts.

Norwich City and Swansea City have inserted such clauses, according to The Mirror, which would see wages reduced by up to 50% if they fall into the Championship.

The club's high-earners, Joey Barton and Shaun Wright-Phillips, reportedly earn in the region of £80,000 a week.
