Joey Barton 'saddened' by death of Manchester City legend Bert Trautmann

Queens Park Rangers midfielder Joey Barton has expressed his sorrow at learning of the death of Manchester City legend Bert Trautmann.

It was announced by the German Football Federation today that the 89-year-old has passed away from a heart attack at his home in Spain.

Barton wrote on Twitter: "Sad to hear about Bert Trautmann's passing. City legend. RIP big man..."

Trautmann racked up over 500 appearances for City during a 15-year stint at the club from 1949.
