Cristiano Ronaldo believes Portugal have what it takes to beat Germany at Euro 2012.

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has said that he believes Portugal can defeat Germany in their Euro 2012 opener.

Germany were the side that sent Portugal out at Euro 2008 and are one of the main favourites for the trophy in Poland and Ukraine this summer.

However, Ronaldo refused to write off his side's chances against Joachim Low's men in the first group game.

"I am looking forward to the tournament, we will have a few days to prepare for it," said Ronaldo.

"The coach knows better than anyone what to do. We will have 20 days to prepare for the first game, so we will have enough time to set up the tactics to beat Germany."

Portugal will face on Denmark and Netherlands after the game against Germany.
