Report: Clubs monitor Chris Lines

A report claims that a number of Championship clubs are interested in signing Port Vale midfielder Chris Lines.

A number of Championship clubs are believed to be interested in signing Port Vale midfielder Chris Lines.

The 28-year-old, who arrived at Vale Park from Sheffield Wednesday in the summer, has impressed during the early stages of his side's League One campaign.

According to Sky Sports News, his performances have attracted the interest of a number of teams from the second tier of English football who have become aware that his contract will expire at the end of the season.

Vale are believed to be keen to tie the midfielder to a long-term contract, but interest from the Championship could turn his head.
