Plymouth take Palace defender on short-term loan

Plymouth Argyle have announced the loan capture of Crystal Palace defender Luke Croll on a short-term deal.

The versatile 20-year-old, who can play in the heart of defence or at full-back, will remain in place until January and is eligible to feature in Saturday's Devon derby with Exeter City.

Croll has yet to make a senior appearance for the Eagles, but he is highly rated at Selhurst Park where he was handed a new deal during the summer. Having also been included as an unused sub for Palace in the Premier League this term, the youngster has now been sent to the South Coast to gain some further experience ahead of his New Year return.

Croll becomes Argyle's second loan signing of the week, following the arrival of Christian Walton from Brighton & Hove Albion on Thursday morning.
