Perth Glory confirm Zlatan Ibrahimovic approach

Perth Glory chief executive Tony Pignata confirms that the A-League side have launched an approach to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Perth Glory chief executive Tony Pignata has confirmed that the A-League side will launch an approach to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The 38-year-old, who has scored 52 goals in 56 MLS games for Los Angeles Galaxy, is expected to leave the Californian side once his contract ends in December.

It remains unclear as to where his next destination will be, but Ibrahimovic has signalled that he would be open to a return to Italy.

In an interview with Fairfax, Perth chief executive Tony Pignata said: "An approach has been made to his agent. We've asked the question firstly about his availability and secondly of his interest."

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has also confirmed that his club are interested in securing the services of Ibrahimovic.

Bologna are another club said to be keen on signing Ibrahimovic over the January transfer window.
