Nottingham Forest to bid for Jack Hobbs?

Nottingham Forest will attempt to agree a deal to sign on-loan defender Jack Hobbs, despite Hull City stating that they plan to recall the player following a Reading bid.

Nottingham Forest will attempt to agree a deal to sign Jack Hobbs, despite Hull City stating that they plan to recall the player after accepting a bid for him from Reading.

The Reds are themselves yet to agree a fee for the defender, who is currently on loan with the East Midlands club from Hull.

But, with the Royals having had a bid accepted, Forest must now make an offer of their own if they are to land Hobbs, who has started every league game for them this season.

"I know the conversation had between Jack Hobbs, Hull City, the agents and Nottingham Forest in the summer," Forest manager Billy Davies told reporters.

"As I said last week, [Hobbs] does not want to leave. He is very happy at the club, he wants to stay at the club. He is very clear in his mind what his position is.

"It is now down to the two clubs, pure and simple. I know what those conversations were in the summer – but now it is down to the two clubs to try to sort things out."

Forest are currently occupying fifth place in the Championship.
