Norwich City striker Grant Holt confirms that he wants to leave the club due to "disagreements".

Norwich City striker Grant Holt has confirmed that he wants to leave the club due to "disagreements".

The 31-year-old was the Canaries' top scorer last season, helping them to a 12th-place finish, but handed in a transfer request earlier this month.

The request was immediately rejected by the club, but a number of clubs were alerted to the potential availability of the striker.

Reports then surfaced that Paul Lambert was determined to take Holt with him to Aston Villa, despite the manager having his resignation rejected.

Now, Holt has confirmed on Twitter that he wants to leave the club, saying: "Just to stop the rumour mill again. I have expressed to the board and the CEO that I want to leave the football club. Due to disagreements.

"I have loved my 3 years at the club and it sadness me to right this but want use to here it from me first."

Holt has been named Norwich's player of the year in each of his three seasons at the club, and was inducted into their Hall of Fame earlier this year after scoring 70 goals in 129 appearances for the Canaries.
