Narrow win for Nice

Darío Cvitanich's second-half goal proves to be the difference at Stade Municipal du Ray, as Nice defeat Toulouse 1-0 at home in Ligue 1.

Nice have gone four points clear of the relegation zone in Ligue 1 with a narrow 1-0 victory over Toulouse at home.

The hosts could have made the breakthrough as early as the second minute when Mahamane Traore's header from an Eric Bautheac delivery went high.

Then on 16 minutes Bautheac saw his effort from outside the area saved by Olivier Blondel in the Toulouse goal.

Five minutes later Adrien Regatti had his long range effort saved by Nice goalkeeper David Ospina, before Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro hit the post in the 34th minute.

Traore tried his luck again just a minute into the second half, and minutes later Didier Digard brought out a good save from Blondel.

Nice turned their domination into something concrete in the 60th minute when Dario Cvitanich fired in from close range to score what eventually proved to be the winner.
